Rams gentlemen of the Hill

9 Mar 2014 by David Burgin

Rams supporters …….to help support the RAMS it is proposed to form an exclusive supporters club hereafter called the Rams Gentlemen of the Hill !!!!!!!

The idea of the club is many fold but principally we want to help build the culture of the club but also have fun on the hill at each home game.
Membership to be strictly by invitation only with only the noblest candidates chosen to have the honour of joining the gentlemen,

Ideas include sponsoring a perpetual club award whereby the gentlemen pick a player at each home game not by being the best player but the one that impresses the astute rugby brains of the gentlemen ; this could be the biggest howler of the day, the gutsiest display ( this nearly always comes from the forwards and not those soft backs) , the guy who gets his shorts ripped off or the thirsty thirds player attempting a back flip or other try time celebration after scoring a match wining try!!!! – Even scoring a try for third grade would be worthy of an award.

A tally will be taken each week and the award – that will surely be soon the most sought after award of the entire club – will be bestowed on the worthy winner at the club’s annual presentation night.

Therefore the first rule of the gentle men’s club is that it will be compulsory to attend the rams preso night (unless of course there is an extremely unhappy better half threatening to cut off the family jewels).

Other ideas is that the gentlemen go on safari at least twice a year —imagine a trip to the outer edges of the empire ie to the 2 Woys or even a trip to the wilds of Warnervale to face the local savages otherwise known as the Warnervale wildebeests oops sorry the Wildcats.. What adventures face the gentlemen each rugby season.

For such an exclusive meeting of intelligent rugby minds there is proposed a cost – to keep out the riffraff – maybe 50 or 60 pieces of silver to fund the trophy (we need a good name for our trophy we are open to ideas), purchase of a high end quality piece of clothing to identify said esteemed gentlemen and maybe being able to make a small donation to the club.

Anyway we are open to ideas as to the cost and /or set up of the Club so any input – suggestions- thoughts would be considered.

Applications from suitably qualified rugby persons of the utmost intelligent and class are invited for this fine venture for the start of the 2014 year surely the year of the RAM!!!!!!!!!!!!
